מחקרי עוסק בהשפעה של גורמים קונטקסטואליים על הרווחה הקוגניטיבית והפסיכולוגית בזקנה. למרות שכל מבוגר יחווה ירידה קוגניטיבית במהלך ההזדקנות, חלקם יחוו ירידה הדרגתית ואיטית, וחלקם יחוו התדרדרות מהירה עד כדי פגיעה בתפקודם היומיומי. גורמים פסיכוסוציאליים, סביבתיים, ושל אורח חיים עשויים לתרום לשונות במסלול השינוי הקוגניטיבי בהזדקנות. גורמים אלה יכולים להשפיע גם על רווחה פסיכולוגית. אני עוסקת בגורמים קונטקסטואליים שונים המשפעים על קוגניציה בזקנה, כולל:
